FAQs
The Application Forms will be sent to you via email by our Enrolments Team on the afternoon of the Open Day. Please look out for our email in your inbox from enrol@redfield.nsw.edu.au. You will have two weeks to complete and submit your application form before it is reviewed by our Enrolments team.
If you have a son starting school in Infants then please attend a Tangara School Open Day to learn more about the Infants program they will attend should they be offered an enrolment. We do encourage you to attend the Redfield College Open Day if you can so that you can see what the future of your son’s education will be like at our brother school.
Year 7 is our most competitive intake year, and places are limited. With only two classes per cohort, we do not add additional streams in High School—so once a year group is full in Primary, further applications are placed on a waitlist.
To give your son the best opportunity to secure a place, we strongly encourage families to consider enrolling from Kindergarten or early Primary. Early enrolment not only increases your chances of a confirmed place for High School but also allows your son to benefit from Redfield’s formative character education from the beginning of his school journey.
As part of the enrolment process, prospective students complete a Learner Profile Assessment. This allows our teaching staff to better understand each child’s learning style, strengths, and any areas where support may be needed. While the results do not solely determine enrolment, they help ensure that each student can thrive within our learning environment and benefit from the educational approach we offer.
Yes, Redfield College warmly welcomes families of all faith backgrounds, provided there is a shared alignment with our core values and approach to education. While we are an Independent Catholic school, we do not require students to be Catholic to enrol.
That said, Religious Education is a compulsory part of our curriculum for all students. Faith-based activities—such as classroom instruction, school prayer, and weekly or daily Mass—are integrated into school life and form an essential part of our identity and mission. Primary students attend Mass weekly, while Secondary students have the option to attend daily Mass or participate in silent reading.
While we welcome students of all faiths, it’s important that you, as parents, are comfortable with your child participating in these aspects of school life, as they are central to the formation and community experience we offer.
At Redfield, we believe every student deserves to be known, challenged, and supported. Our Diverse Learning team works closely with teachers and mentors to support students across the spectrum: from those who need additional help in certain areas, to those who are academically gifted and ready for extension.
Support strategies may include Individual Education Plans, tailored classroom approaches, or accelerated learning pathways. Through regular assessments, teacher observations, and ongoing 1:1 mentoring, we’re able to identify each student’s unique needs and strengths—academic or otherwise—and help them grow with purpose and confidence.
