Begin Your Journey With Us

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your son. We’re honoured you’re considering Redfield College. Whether you’re just exploring or ready to take the next step, we’re here to support and guide you through the process.

Redfield is more than a school. It’s a community that partners with parents to raise young men of character, faith, and purpose. We’re proud to see growing interest in what we offer and we do our best to welcome every family who aligns with our mission.

Please kindly note:

While we’re grateful for every enquiry, we cannot guarantee a place at any stage of the enrolment process. Enrolment offers are made based on availability, discretion of our school Executive, and the following priority criteria:

  • Siblings of current Redfield and Tangara families
  • Sons of Alumni of the Pared Schools
  • Families actively practising the Catholic faith
  • Families who uphold and support the values of our school

We encourage all prospective families to read our Enrolment Policy and Parent Code of Conduct for more detailed information.

Testimonials

Redfield college has been a God send to our family, we feel this is our second home. Redfield provides a safe and nurturing environment where our boys can develop spiritually, academically and personally. The mentor system has allowed our boys to flourish and focus on their strengths while acknowledging their weaknesses and helping overcome them. We truly feel as parents we are included in every step of our boys education and wellbeing. We are truly in debt to all the people that make up our wonderful Redfield community

Olympia Dimitriou

It’s a great school for our boys. Probably the best decision we have ever made with regards to the kids education. We highly recommend this school if you want strong character formation as well as academics. You boys will be made into leaders not just men.

Boutros Zalloua

Redfield college shines as an exemplary school, boasting a vibrant community, serene surroundings, and an exceptional mentorship program that nurtures students’ growth. Its fantastic academic curriculum lays a strong foundation while the approachable staff fosters a supportive learning environment.

Paul Tannous

Emigrating from South Africa and looking for a new school for our boys was daunting to say the least. Redfield Collage ticked so many boxes for us, smaller more intimate classes allowing individual attention, a mentoring program where our boys could voice any concerns and discuss their challenges, set new goals and celebrate their achievements.

FAQs

How many streams are there in each cohort?

From Year 2 to Year 12, Redfield has two streams per cohort. In Kindergarten and Year 1, there are four streams in total, as these early years are co-educational at our Infants campus: two streams of boys who transition to Redfield in Year 2, and two streams of girls who continue at Tangara.

Our cohort sizes are intentionally limited to two streams to preserve the quality and depth of our 1:1 Mentoring System. Every student is paired with a dedicated mentor—a member of staff who meets with the student fortnightly and with their parents each term. This structure allows us to provide truly personalised support, both academically and in character formation.

When is the best time to submit an expression of interest/enquiry?

You’re welcome to submit an expression of interest at any time. It’s the first step in discovering whether Redfield is the right school for your family. After submitting your enquiry, you’ll be on our list to be invited to attend one of our upcoming Open Days. If no dates are currently available to book, you’ll be on our list to be notified when the next Open Day opens for registration.

When can we complete the application form?

Application forms are made available to families who attend an Open Day and are sent via email on the same day. Each round of application review and interviews is linked to a two-week submission window following the Open Day, so it’s important to complete and return your form within that timeframe.

What are the chances of securing a place in Year 7?

Year 7 is our most competitive intake year, and places are limited. With only two classes per cohort, we do not add additional streams in High School—so once a year group is full in Primary, further applications are placed on a waitlist.

To give your son the best opportunity to secure a place, we strongly encourage families to consider enrolling from Kindergarten or early Primary. Early enrolment not only increases your chances of a confirmed place for High School but also allows your son to benefit from Redfield’s formative character education from the beginning of his school journey.

Is there an entrance exam or ability grouping for new students?

As part of the enrolment process, prospective students complete a Learner Profile Assessment. This allows our teaching staff to better understand each child’s learning style, strengths, and any areas where support may be needed. While the results do not solely determine enrolment, they help ensure that each student can thrive within our learning environment and benefit from the educational approach we offer.

Do you accept students from other faith backgrounds, and is Religious Education compulsory?

Yes, Redfield College warmly welcomes families of all faith backgrounds, provided there is a shared alignment with our core values and approach to education. While we are an Independent Catholic school, we do not require students to be Catholic to enrol.

That said, Religious Education is a compulsory part of our curriculum for all students. Faith-based activities—such as classroom instruction, school prayer, and weekly or daily Mass—are integrated into school life and form an essential part of our identity and mission. Primary students attend Mass weekly, while Secondary students have the option to attend daily Mass or participate in silent reading.

While we welcome students of all faiths, it’s important that you, as parents, are comfortable with your child participating in these aspects of school life, as they are central to the formation and community experience we offer.

How does Redfield support students with diverse learning needs, whether they need extra help or greater academic challenge?

At Redfield, we believe every student deserves to be known, challenged, and supported. Our Diverse Learning team works closely with teachers and mentors to support students across the spectrum: from those who need additional help in certain areas, to those who are academically gifted and ready for extension.

Support strategies may include Individual Education Plans, tailored classroom approaches, or accelerated learning pathways. Through regular assessments, teacher observations, and ongoing 1:1 mentoring, we’re able to identify each student’s unique needs and strengths—academic or otherwise—and help them grow with purpose and confidence.

What is Redfield’s mobile phone policy, and do you address social media use with students?

At Redfield, we want students to be fully present: in their learning, their friendships, and the wider life of the College. To support this, all mobile phones and digital devices (including smartwatches and music players) are handed in at the start of each day and stored securely until home time. This policy applies across all school settings, including excursions, camps, and sports days.

Our approach encourages students to build real connections and develop focus without the constant pull of digital distractions. We also work in partnership with parents and mentors to guide students in the safe and responsible use of technology (both at school and at home) including conversations about social media, screen time, and digital habits.

What time does school commence and end each day?

Primary classes start at 8:30am and end at 3:00pm.

Secondary classes start at 8:20am and end at 3:00pm.

We recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow students time to settle in before the day begins.

How does pick-up and drop-off work if I have children at both Tangara and Redfield?

We understand the logistics of having children at both schools and are happy to support a simplified pick-up process. Redfield students can travel to Tangara in the afternoon using the inter-school bus and join their siblings for collection.

If you’d like your son to be picked up from Tangara, he can meet his siblings at either the Primary or Secondary carline and then proceed together to the Secondary carline for pick-up.

Alternatively, your daughters may travel to Redfield via the inter-school bus and be picked up alongside their brothers from the Redfield campus.

Is there an inter-school bus between Redfield and Tangara?

Yes, Redfield and Tangara offer a convenient inter-school bus service to support families with children at both campuses. This service allows for a single drop-off or pick-up location, making daily routines easier for parents.

Do you offer a private bus service?

Yes. Redfield College operates a dedicated Private Bus Service to make school more accessible for families in areas not well served by public transport.

Our service covers key locations across Sydney’s North-West, including Baulkham Hills, Stanhope Gardens, Kellyville, Glenhaven, and Dural. It’s a convenient option for families looking for a reliable and direct commute to and from school.

Do you offer before and after-school care services?

While Redfield does not offer formal before or after-school care, we do provide a supervised Study Club in the Library for students in the afternoons.

Study Club runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm (excluding the first and last weeks of each term). Students are welcome to stay during these times to complete homework, revise, or read in a quiet and supportive environment.
