Year 7-8 Parent Teacher Night
Last week, the Years 7 and 8 parents braved the icy-cold winds to meet with their sons’ teachers. Our parents are very committed at Redfield: the other week was the KPF, last Monday was the Elevate study skills session and then last night made the trifecta. It was a marathon effort for our teachers, with many of them were completely booked from 3:30 to 7:30pm. The parent attendance was much higher than last year, so the word has obviously got out that these functions are worthwhile. Many parents also brought their sons to face the music!
Leo Carol, our Technology teacher, made the effort to transport student work on bridges for parents to inspect and hopefully stress test! The longer timeslots of seven minutes (as opposed to five last year) were well received by parents, as they allowed extra time for details and transitioning. The buzzer was very audible and certainly let everyone know that it was time to move on to the next interview! Due to the high demand, we will split next term’s Parent-Teacher Nights for Years 9 and 10 over two separate dates. These functions with the teachers really complement the support from mentors.
