Adding more technology to the classroom, allowing show and tell every day, adding fun to the school day, banning Pokemon cards and toys!

During Week 9 of last term, the Year 4 boys had the opportunity to put their cases forward to change the school rules.

As part of our study of persuasive texts, the boys were given a week to prepare and present a short speech to their peers about making some significant changes here at Redfield.

Five boys from each class were then selected to present their speeches to Mr Ramos!

The topics were quite varied but all the boys presented confidently and Mr Ramos was very impressed with the high quality of their work and their use of persuasive techniques.

We wouldn't be surprised if some of their ideas were put into action here at Redfield!

The boys should all be very proud of their efforts!

The boys in Year 3 really enjoy participating in their daily warm-up tasks before their Maths lessons. These activities are intended to be a quick warm-up for the brain. They are not meant to be something that is going to take a long time to complete but something that can be done quickly by the whole class. Students get the opportunity to prepare for the lesson ahead by practising concepts they’ve learnt in previous classes, such as counting, addition, subtraction and place value.
This week, we have been focusing on multiplication tables!
