If this website manages to represent only a glimpse of the spirit of Redfield College, then there is a great deal that you will glean from it. The site contains valuable information about the aims, activities and achievements of our extended community of dedicated teachers, committed parents and diligent students. Our mission is founded on a belief that parents are the primary educators of their children and our core responsibility is to support parents in this role. I invite you to explore our vision that fosters this relationship in the very heart of the young men we educate. This unique educational approach is based on the teachings of St Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei. He wrote: “The parents are the first persons responsible for the education of their children, in human as well as in spiritual matters”. This idea was seized upon by our founding parents and brought to Australia to establish schools such as Redfield College back in the 1980s. We are very proud of its growth since then. The many facets of this development are clearly available to you on this website. One such aspect is the importance of character development and education in human virtues. We work very closely with the young men under our care through our one-on-one tutorial (mentoring) system to achieve this. Whether a student is in pursuit of doing one’s absolute best academically or on the sporting field, through musical formation or community service, Redfield attempts to assist him in his development as a human being who will form a close relationship with God and make a difference in society.
