Procedure for Coaches, Parents and Players when Grounds are Closed for Training
It is imperative that all parents have discussed a plan with their son to be implemented in the case of grounds closures on their training day. Below are the procedures that will take place should the grounds be closed for training.
1. Should there be any doubt about the weather or the field condition, parents, coaches and players (who are not students at Redfield) must call the Ground Information number to determine if training has been cancelled - 9651 0325. The information is updated before 2pm each weekday.
2. In the event that the grounds are closed for training, students will be informed that training has been cancelled by announcements at school.
3. Boys should then adopt the plan discussed with their parents regarding transport home (either plans to be picked up or catch buses after school as normal). If the grounds are closed, the coach will not be present at Redfield, so it is vital that boys are clear on their transport arrangements so boys are not left unsupervised.
This system eliminates the need for boys to make phone calls home. It is up to the parents to call the information line to ensure they are aware of their son travelling home by bus or the need to pick up their son at 3pm.
