From the Headmaster
Our Years 7-9 students settle into examinations this week. One of our Year 8s has just told me he clocked up 10 hours on the weekend working through his study guides. What a terrific effort, definitely taking to heart Lao-Tzu’s maxim: “A scholar who cherishes the love of comfort is not fit to be deemed a scholar”.

Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie - Thursday 26th March 2009

On Thursday Year 3 and Year 2 went to the Riverside Theatre to watch Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie. I thought that it was a hilarious play that explained our culture and animals. Andrew Moore

On Thursday Year 3 and 2 went to see Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. The play was about two nuts. The show started at 11:45am. The thing that I liked about it was when Mrs Snake was trying to catch Mr Lizard. Thank you Mr Comerford for giving us a note to the Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie. Isaac Yassa 3C

On Thurday Year 2 and 3 went to an act called Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie at Parramatta Riverside Theatre at 11:45. I thought it was exceptional and also very funny. It taught us a lot about Australian Animals, The Lizard, The snake and offcourse Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie, the two nuts. It was very entertaining, thankyou Mr Comerford for organising the show. James Westbury

On Thursday year 3 and 2 went to see a play called Snuggle Pot and Cuddle Pie at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. The show started at eleven forty-five. There were some unexpected bits but mostly it was funny. Thank you Mr Comerford for organising it. Kevin Adiharma

Year 5 Excursion
Last Friday Year 5 went on an excursion to the city. We travelled by bus from Redfield College.

The bus driver dropped us off outside of the Powerhouse Museum. We ate recess and got our photos taken by Mr. Cheng. We went into the museum after recess so we could go to the Space Exhibit.

The classes split up so we could find answers for our question sheet. Suddenly the teachers called us back to listen how to build a rocket. The man taught us what you needed and he also showed us a real life rocket booster and space probes.   The classes walked to the Experimentation exhibit. There were different kinds of experiments but most of the boys gathered around the Chocolate Making machine. After trying all the experiments we walked to Darling Harbour.

At Darling Harbour we ate our lunches. After that we walked with excitement to the IMAX theatre. At the IMAX theatre we watched a movie about an Irish explorer named Ernest Shackleton. He attempted to reach the South Pole but two other explorers had already conquered it. He is famous not for his journey to the South Pole but for his remarkable journey in a lifeboat and across a mountain to save his men.

It was an interesting day for all the students. Everyone had a great time on the excursion.

On Friday 3rd April both Year 5 classes went to the Powerhouse Museum and IMAX Theatre.

At the Powerhouse we went tot the space and experimental sections. I think everyone liked the chocolate machine because the line was very long.

After the Powerhouse we walked to Darling Harbour and had lunch. After lunch we watched a documentary on Ernest Shackleton at Imax. After the movie we caught the bus back to Redfield.

It ended up being a fun excursion.
